A work in progress

Here are a few pictures of our Laundry room. When we bought the house, 6 years ago, it was a completely unfinished room. The previous owners had attempted to finish the room and had put up dry wall on one part of the ceiling and had put in some insulation. Calvin has wanted to do this project for a long time and bought a bunch of drywall several years ago in hopes of doing it. He has had a renewed interest in this project as of lately and he put in the rest of the insulation all by himself. He also built a structure to cover the hanging duct work and I helped him put that up. At this point in the project Calvin started having some bad back and leg pains. He has had this happen before and so we know that it is a sign that he has slipped a disc in his back. This causes the back pain and nerve running from his back to his leg is being pinched which is causing the leg pain. He was having a very difficult time walking and even moving around at all. He has seen a doctor and started Physical Therapy, which has helped a lot. He only missed two days of work and has been doing as good as to be expected.

We have had a lot of people volunteering to help Calvin by finishing the drywall project. His friend Dan was the first to devote his time to the project and worked for a whole day on it. He was able to finish the covering for the duct and did a whole bunch of electrical work, fixing the outlets in the room that were not properly installed and probably saving us from some kind of electrical fire down the road. Thank you, Dan for using your awesome skills for our use.

Then last Saturday two of Calvin's friends from Church volunteered a few hours to put up some of the drywall. They were able to do one of the walls and they have been trying to find some more time to get back and do more. Thank you to Rex and Jason you have always been good friends to Calvin.

Dan brought his daughter, Lea, with him and Lea and Kylee got to learn a little bit about house electricity works as they helped Dan with some of the wiring. Don't worry the electricity was off the whole time and Dan double checked all of there work.

I can't wait until it is all done and we can put a bunch of shelves up so that we have some more storage room.
